At 14:38 (2:38 PM) Carroll County 911 center received calls for and dispatched box alarm 14-14 for a reported trailer home on fire at Ashley’s Trailer Park in the 5900 block of Woodbine road in Winfield Fire company’s first due response area.

Station 4 was alerted to assist on the assignment as the second due engine company (E41) and tanker (TT17 from station 4) and the first due water supply piece (WS42). Engine 41 and Tanker 17 responded immediately after dispatch, followed shortly by Water Supply 42. While en route, Carroll Chief 14 requested the Rapid intervention Dispatch and Tanker Task force and reported that he had 2 trailer homes on fire. Engine 41 arrived and the crew went to work assisting the engine crew from Winfield. Tanker 17 arrived and supplied units on the opposite side of the building while Water Supply 42 assisted in setting up multiple draft sites for a water shuttle due to the areas lack of fire hydrants.

Multiple other units from Howard county, as well as Frederick County assisted units from Carroll in extinguishment and overhaul. Units operated for approximately 5 and a half hours on scene before returning to service.

While units were committed in Carroll County, Howard County 911 received a call for a brush fire in the 15000 block of Bushy Park road in the 13-03 box area. Units arrived on location to find fire in a densely wooded area and requested additional units. Both Brush 47 and Brush 48 responded and assisted to control the fire and extinguish hotspots.

These multi-unit responses are only possible due to the great partnership we have with the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue and our volunteers!
