At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Christmas morning box alarm 4-5 was dispatched to the 14000 block of MacClintock Drive for a house fire. Minutes later E-41 arrived on location with smoke showing from the structure. E-41's crew of 6 split into 2 teams each with 1 3/4" CAFS line and made their way to the 2nd floor were both teams encountered heavy smoke and heat conditions. Members from E-31 joined with E-41's attack crews and began knocking the fire.
Command requested a 2nd alarm due to balloon frame construction, size of the structure, and this being a non-hydrant area. The bulk of the 2nd alarm was not needed and was released shortly after the fire was knocked.
Other units began arriving on scene and preforming secondary searches and ventilation. When the bulk of the fire was knocked on the 2nd floor additional units went to the 3rd floor and opened up walls where fire was inside. Fire was held to the room of origin and the room directly above.
The homeowner was transported for burns and smoke inhalation, as well as 4 firefighters for minor injuries.
