By Firefighter Scott Christiansen
December 23, 2007

The alarm at 7002 Bristol Court was sounded at approximately 12:45 pm after a passer-by spotted smoke coming from the single story ranch home.

Arriving firefighters forced entry into the home and discovered fire on both the first floor and in the basement. Crews worked quickly to knock down the fire, which was brought under control in approximately 25 minutes. No one was injured in the firefighting effort.

It was determined that the fire had been burning for quite some time before it was discovered. While fire damage was limited to the living room area and part of the basement, the rest of the home sustained severe heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office, and is not believed to be suspicious.

Units: Engine 41, Engine 42, Engine-Tanker 44
