At just after 6:35am on May 7th, units were alerted for a vehicle accident on I-70 between the weigh station and Rt. 32. Units arrived to find two tractor trailers involved and one of the drivers trapped. RE4 responded and served as the primary extrication unit.

Just after 7am, U4B responded to an accident on I-70 near Morgan Station Rd on the way to relieve members operating on RE4. One patient was transported.

Just before 10am after clearing the first accident, RE4 responded to the area of Rt 32 and Rt 144 for another rescue with entrapment. RE4 arrived and assisted with extrication of one of the occupants. MSP aviation transported one patient to an area trauma center.

While RE4 was committed several members staffed the station to cover for any additional calls. Photo is courtesy of a local news agency on social media.
