Shortly before 10:00am on Thursday, January 21st, Mt. Airy was alerted for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries in the 1000 Block of Ridge Rd (Rt 27). This area is in Howard county, but Mt. Airy responds as first due because they can respond quicker. CF4A and CF4C responded with Mt. Airy and while enroute additional callers reported an occupant trapped in the vehicle. The call was upgrading bring additional crews including P45 and RE4. Carroll R1 (Mt Airy) arrived first and began extricating the patient. The occupant was extricated in approximately 15 minutes and transported to an area hospital. Crews remained on scene until just before 11:00am. The scene was turned over to HCPD for investigation.
