At 2:35am on July 14, 2011 units from Howard, Carroll, Frederick and Montgomery Counties were alerted for box alarm, 4-15 in the area of Penn Shop and Ridge Road for the house fire. As units were responding, County Police gave a corrected address in the of 18300 block of Penn Shop Rd and reported they had a house fully engulfed.
This is a vacant house which was the scene of a fire back in February as well. Command officers decided to let the house continue to burn as the previous fire left significant irrepairable damage. Units then began hitting hot spots. Units remained on scene until 7AM before returning to service.
