The month of June began as a busy one for the members of the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company. On June 1, 2011 members went to the new firehouse property to begin cleaning up the property. Members began the process of making the property look more presentable by trimming grass, cutting trees, and removing debris that were left behind when the fire company purchased the property at the end of February.
On Saturday June 4, 2011 members showed back up to the new property around 07:00 to begin the process of chipping trees, removing trash, and cutting grass. By noon the property already looked a lot different. The property still needs some work and the members of the department will continue to work on the property.
A special thank you goes out from the members of the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company to the local businesses that donated their time and offered equipment for the fire company to use for the property clean up. Randy and his crew from Randy's Tree & Stump Removal (Poplar Springs, MD), Zack Brendal and Justin Brendal with Level Land Inc. (Lisbon, MD), and Bob Porter from Bob Porter Company Inc. (Woodbine, MD). Without the support of the local businesses and the dedicated members of the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company we would not have been able to accomplish all that we have so far.
