At approximately 15:00 (3:00 pm) on April 7th, Engine 41 was alerted for a vehicle fire in Carroll County, on Interstate 70 at Route 27. Engine 41 made a very quick response with a crew of 4 and joined Carroll County's Ambulance 18 (Mount Airy) at 70 and 27. Units continued into Frederick county to find a fully involved car on the slow shoulder of eastbound I-70.
Engine 41 took the crossover from the westbound side to the east bound lanes and traveled up the shoulder to the fire because Maryland State Police already had the road shut down. Engine 41's crew made quick work of the fire using a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS). No injuries were reported. Photos Courtesy of New Market Volunteer Fire Company (Frederick county co. 15).
