| Lisbon VFC's Open House 2010 started with the roar of the Maryland State Police Helicopter taking off followed by plenty of learning. Visitors were greeted by Sparky the Fire Dog as they explored Howard County's Decon 13-- the HazMat decontamination unit, the fire engines, and ambulance. Inside, families had the opportunity to learn how to replace smoke detector batteries, test smoke detectors, paruse reading material on carbon monoxide safety and properly displaying house numbers, and kids participated in stop-drop-roll/crawl under the smoke activities and tried on fire gear. Throughout the day, demonstrations were held by Mae-- Howard County's Arson Dog, and Dino-- a search and rescue dog. Food was provided by Lisbon's Town Grill.
