| Today, fire crews were called for a significant mutual aid response in Montgomery County. Although it was April 1st, this was no prank. Brush 47 and Water Supply 42 were alerted to assist on the east side of Montgomery County, joining other units from Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George’s counties.
Just after 1 PM, Brush 47, Brush 28 from Ellicott City, and Brush 128 from HCDFRS-Waterloo were dispatched to the area of Cherry Hill Road and FDA Boulevard. They responded to help crews already on scene with a large brush fire. Shortly after Brush 47 called responding, Water Supply 42 and Foam Tanker 11 were also alerted and made their way to the incident. Units worked together for approximately 3.5 hours, assisting with fire suppression efforts before returning to their stations.
While responses like these are uncommon, they are not unusual. In recent years, Station 4 has responded or transferred as far as Clear Spring in Washington County and Anne Arundel County.
