Just before 3:40pm on Wednesday March 20th, a call was received at Station 4 for a possible brush fire in the 3200 block of Jones Rd in Woodbine. E41, B47, TNK4, and P45 responded to investigate. Upon arrival crews found several acres of woods on fire and requested additional units. CF4B, DTY4, and WS42 responded along with surrounding stations. Units responding found a second part of the fire accessible off Jennings Chapel Rd. WS42 set up a water supply at a pond on the property supplying water to the crews and filling ATVs that responded to assist. DNR Forestry responded to assist with the many trees on fire along with equipment from Highways. ATV4 was committed on another large brush fire in Columbia, but assisted with cleanup towards the end of the incident. Crews operated for approximately 5 hours before turning the scene over to DNR to monitor for the night.
