Shortly after 8:45pm on Monday, August 17th, units from Mt. Airy VFC were alerted for a vehicle collision with unknown injuries in the area of Rt. 27 and Penn Shop Rd. Further information was received from a Park Police Officer on scene who advised an occupant from one of the vehicles was trapped. The assignment was upgraded bringing more units from Mt. Airy and Lisbon. RE4, P45, CF4, CF4A, and CF4B responded, CF4 established command and requested aviation for the patient trapped in their vehicle. Ultimately, the trapped occupant was pronounced dead on the scene, and the occupant of the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital. Units operated for approximately 2 hours before turning the scene over to HCPD.
