Fire fighters Frank Fleming and Brian Haugh along with our Engine 42 represented Lisbon VFC at the Maryland Fire-Rescue Services Memorial Dedication in Annapolis on June 11, 2006. Three of Lisbon's own were honored in the memorial for the loss of their lives while serving their community. On July 20, 1969, while responding to a barn fire during a thunderstorm, fire fighters Robert W. Clary and Raymond M. Mills were killed instantly when the fire engine they were responding in was involved in an accident. Fire fighter William I. Brightwell passed away on July 8, 1972 from injuries obtained during the accident. These gentlemen gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving their fellow citizens of the Lisbon Community.
