At approximately 23:20 (11:20 PM) on March 11th, Box Alarm 3-48 was dispatched for the report of a house on fire on Bold Venture Drive in Glenelg. Engine 41 and 42 made the response shortly after dispatch with a total of 7 personnel. While units where en route, Howard advised multiple calls reporting the house "blew up," with heavy fire from the garage. Engine 31 advised incoming units that they believed this to be a working fire due to the column of smoke and fire visible from Route 32. Engine 31 arrived shortly there after with a two story single family dwelling with heavy fire from the garage on the Alpha-Bravo (front left) corner extending into the house.

Engine 41 arrived as the 4th arriving engine company. The crew from Engine 41 proceeded down the driveway to assist with fire suppression efforts. Upon meeting with command, the crew stretched the 300 foot attack line to the rear of the structure and completed a primary search of the basement level. Crews then assisted firefighters from West Friendship with extinguishing multiple cars and hot-spots in the garage.

Engine 42 set up a water supply site at Glenelg High School to fill Tankers due to the area not having any hydrants.

All crews operated for about 3 hours before returning to service.
