| On February 25, 2013, members of the Lisbon VFC participated in training exercises involving a life-sized and weighted manikin that was placed in atypical locations. The challenge was to gain access to and safely remove the "patient" (manikin) from their location given the circumstances given in the scenario.
Through teamwork and creativity, the "patient" was removed from a logistically tight area that limited the number of providers who could assist, brought down a flight of stairs utilizing a stair chair, extricated from the drivers position in a semi truck, and lowered from a second story window using a stokes basket, rope, and a ladder.
The members were also able to become familiar with the newly purchased stokes basket that is carried by Engine 43.
The educational and fun-filled evening was enjoyed by FF P. Atwill, EMT L. Barnett, EMS Sgt. M. Barnett, EMT L. Gray, FF/EMT K. Livesay, Sgt. J. McIntosh, FF/EMT E. McNemar, FF/EMT J. McNemar, EMT K. Sharpe, FF/P W. Sharpe, FF D. Sirk, Capt. Dave Stull, and member B. Kitt. |
