On Saturday November 19, 2011, Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company members had the opportunity to take part in a vehicle extrication training at the station. The focus of the training was to review the fundamentals of vehicle extrication and discuss how vehicle technologies (airbag systems, hybrid vehicles) impact our extrication approach. Training included a practical review of vehicle stabilization; rescuer safety; patient safety and care; and use of hand and hydraulic tools to access the passenger compartment and remove the patient(s).

The vehicle was generously donated by a member of our community.
