Rainy Morning Contributes to 2 Motor Vehicle Crashes

At approximately 06:30 units from Engine Company 4 were alerted for a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Rt 32 and the west bound ramp to Interstate 70. While Engine 43's crew were assisting P86 with packaging a priority 3 patient, dispatch alerted companies 4,3,5 as well as Carroll County Station 12 for another motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Rt 97 and Monticello Drive for a rescue with entrapment. E43 quickly cleared the first incident and responded to the Rt 97 crash. E41 arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident with one trapped, and multiple patients. E43 arrived along with E32 and Carroll County P129 all crews went to work with patient care and extrication. Extrication took approximately 15 minutes. Carroll County P129 transported 1 adult and 2 pediatric priority 2 patients to Johns Hopkins while Carroll County P128 transported the priority 1 patient to Shock Trauma. All units cleared approximately an hour later.
