At just after 2:15pm on Monday July 15th units from Lisbon and other area companies were alerted for a barn fire in the 3000 Block of Rt. 97 in Glenwood. E41, ET44, P45, CF4A, and CF4B responded along with other units, some of which had just cleared the earlier shed fire. TNK13 (Glenwood) arrived to confirm a working barn fire. Crews then confirmed that two 50ft by 100ft structures were involved. There were no people or animals reported to be in either structure at the time of the fire. Crews operated defensively to extinguish the fire, and it was placed under control after approximately 2 hours. Both structures are a total loss. One civilian refused treatment with unknown injuries and one firefighter was evaluated for an injury. The HCDFRS Office of the Fire Marshall will be handling the investigation. At the time of this article crews have been operating for almost 6 hours and will remain on scene for some time. We would like to thank the crew on E81 from Ellicott City (Bethany) for assisting in covering our area while our units are committed.
