Company 4 Empties House for the Rescue with Entrapment

In the early afternoon hours of January 25th, 2015, units from Lisbon, Glenwood and West Friendship responded to a rescue box in the area of Bahner Court and Frederick Road for a vehicle collision with entrapment. Engine 42 arrived with one vehicle on its side with one trapped. 42's officer established the Frederick Road command and requested aviation for a Priority 1 Category Alpha (critical) from Maryland State Police - Aviation Command.

42's crew began stabilization of the vehicle and with assistance from Engine 41, the roof was flapped down and the patient was extricated. Patient care was transferred to 45 and EMS 2 (HCDFRS Medical Duty Officer) assisted the paramedics with patient stabilization. After consulting with the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma center, the patient was declared a Priority 4 (deceased) and the scene was handed over to the Maryland State Police for investigation.

Units operated for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.

Units: Engine 42, 41, Paramedic 45 at the scene. Engine Tanker 44 at the landing zone.
